Inspired by an investigation into the theme of the hunt for the sacred animal and taking as its starting point, the Irish, Fenian Cycle myth of The Salmon of Knowledge, this work touches on a notion of accidental transcendence through consumption, be that of divine flesh or flora. That first taste pulls the eye through time and place, southwest from Ireland, across Europe to its east, through human-altered landscapes and the customs and rituals which originated from a need to influence the seasons and ensure good harvest.
